In short: EasyAgent does not collect, transmit, or sell any data. Everything it records stays on your device — recordings and spreadsheet data in your browser's local storage, screenshots as ordinary files in your Downloads folder — for your use only.
What EasyAgent does
EasyAgent is a browser extension that records clicks, form entries, and checkbox/radio ticks you make on a web page, then replays that recording against rows of a spreadsheet you provide — once per row.
What is stored, and where
The extension stores a few kinds of data, all locally on your device using the browser's
built-in storage.local extension storage API:
- Recorded steps — the sequence of clicks, field values, and checkbox states captured while you record a macro, plus any column bindings you set up.
- Spreadsheet data — the rows you paste or upload to drive bulk replay.
- Run results — the outcome of your most recent run, including any screenshot it captured, kept only until you dismiss it or start another run. See Screenshots below for where a screenshot itself ends up long-term.
This data never leaves your device. It is not sent to any server, developer, analytics service, or third party of any kind. EasyAgent has no backend — there is nothing for it to send data to even if it wanted to.
Password fields
If a recorded step is a password-type input, EasyAgent stores that the field was interacted with, but never the value typed into it. Replaying that step still focuses the field so you can type the password yourself — the password itself is never captured, stored, displayed, or exported.
Screenshots
EasyAgent can capture a screenshot during a run, but only when you explicitly add a "Screenshot" step to a macro. It never captures one automatically otherwise. Screenshots are saved as ordinary image files straight to your own Downloads folder (in an "EasyAgent Screenshots" subfolder by default, which you can rename in the extension's Advanced tab), the same way any file you download would be — never uploaded or transmitted anywhere.
Why the extension can access web pages
EasyAgent requests broad host access (<all_urls>) because it's a
general-purpose recorder — which page to record and replay is chosen by you at runtime, not
known in advance. It could be an admin panel, a CMS, a CRM, an ecommerce back-end, or any
other site, on a domain that can't be predicted ahead of time. That access is used only to:
- attach the recorder to whatever page you're on when you click "Start New Recording", and
- re-navigate to that same (or a per-row bound) starting URL before replaying each row.
No content from any page you visit is read, transmitted, or stored beyond the specific clicks/fields/ticks you explicitly record.
Data deletion
Clearing a recording (the "Clear All" action), uninstalling the extension, or clearing the extension's site data in your browser removes all recorded steps and spreadsheet data — there's nothing stored anywhere else to delete. The one exception is screenshot files: since those save to your Downloads folder like any other download, they're not touched by uninstalling the extension or clearing its storage — delete them from Downloads yourself if you don't want to keep them.
